The interactive fiction language Inform 7 just released version 6L02, which makes a lot of changes internally and tightens up the syntax some. Of my four extensions, two continue to work out of the box, but Reactable Quips and Quip-Based Conversation both need minor updates to compile.
As I mentioned in my last post, a month and a half ago, I wouldn't be blogging the comp. That's because I entered: my entry, Flight of the Hummingbird, ended up placing 8th - and against extremely respectable competition. I'm pleased.
The IFComp is upon us once again! Like last year, I'm doing my IFComp reviews in three packs. This year, that comes out to three packs of eight games each.
Anyway, here's the second chunk of reviews this comp. I get cranky. On the other hand, I also have my first experiences with top-tier games. So, mixed bag.
My play of IF games in the comp tends to be kind of bursty, and I always liked the Floods of Reviews. However, it's more typical at present to blog them in these modern, decadent times, and so I'll be joining in the fun

Those of you using the Blorple interactive fiction browser can get an importable iFiction file for the IFComp 2008 games from the support files directory. Put the iFiction file in your Comp08 directory (so that zcode, glulx, etc. are immediate subdirectories) and then import it using the "Import iFiction" option in Blorple
